Ebonyi land crisis: I will restore peace in Ivo Local Government Area, Governor Francis

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has restated the commitment of his administration in restoring peace at Ivo Local Government Area of the state. This information was disclosed by a post made by the Governor on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday 17th December, 2024 His Excellency, Governor Francis Nwifuru  Recall that there has been lingering land dispute between the Umobor, Akaeze and Ogwor, Ishiagu communities in Ivo Local Government Area of the state. The Governor in his speech stated that he has personally engaged stakeholders from both communities in a dialogue which took place in Government House, Abakaliki. In his effort to restore peace and bring to an end the crisis, the disputed land has been declared a neutral zone between the two villages pending the peaceful resolution of the crisis. president Tinubu approves the new Harmonized Terms and Conditions of Service for military personnels.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu granted his approval for the new Terms and Conditions of Service for soldiers/ratings/Airmen and commissioned officers in the Nigerian Army, Navy and Air Force. The new Harmonized Terms and Conditions of Service (HTACOS) for commissioned and non-commissioned officers  was approved during a national security Council meeting at Abuja, Nigerian Capital, presided by the President. This was disclosed in an X post made by the Presidency's official X handle @NGRPresident. The move is one of the President's commitments towards boosting the morals of officers and men of the Nigerian military. The new  HTACOS became necessary following long standing issues bordering on conditions of services and soldier's welfares which needs to be addressed  so as to ensure improved welfare of soldiers/ratings/Airmen in the service and ensure operational readiness of the troops.

The Nigerian Navy has welcomed a fresh set of new regular intakes following a passing out parade  held at Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS), Onne on Saturday 14th December, 2024. The Ceremony which was attended by senior military officers, Flag Officers Commanding(FOCs), General Officers Commanding(GOCs), Air Officers Commanding(AOC),  and several other principal staff officers (PSOs) was also graced by the chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral EI Ogalla as the Special Guest of Honour while the commandant of NNBTS Cdre GJ Kachim was the Chief Host. Investiture of Nwoba Chika Nwoba into Knight of Saint Christopher: A ceremony of honour

Among the newly members of the Anglican communion invested into the order of knighthood was Nwoba Chika Nwoba, a PDP chieftain from Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. The formal ceremony which  took place on Sunday 15 Dec. 24 was graced by many dignitaries including top government officials, bishops and priests of Anglican communion at Aguata Diocess in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
