The Ebonyi State Pipe Production Factory has commenced full Operation, Governor's Aid declares. The Ebonyi State Pipe Production Factory was built by the Governor Martin Nwancho Elechi's administration. The pipe production factory has over the years laid moribund without any attention. Recently, the Governor, His Excellency Gov. Francis Nwifuru declared his interest to revitalize the factory and bring it back to full production operation. The repair commenced last year as reported by various media, following a media tour to mark the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) week in the state. Police have confirmed the arrest of a woman identified as Ihsanatu Shaaibu over a viral video where a minor was physically abused with grievous injury inflicted . According to a post made on the Nigerian Police's official Facebook page, E-signed by Force Public Relation Officer,  ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, FPRO, the abused minor was identified as Fa'iza Bala who was listed as 5 years old stepdaughter of  the suspect. Arrest was made on Thursday 9th January, 2025 while investigation into the incidence have commenced; prosecution to follow immediately investigation is concluded. The FPRO promised to keep the general public abreast of the proceedings and any other developments with regards to the case.

The social media giant 'meta' has announced a shift from her third-party fact checking program to adopt community notes approach in contents moderation. This is similar to an approach used by Meat's closest competitor 'X' formerly known as Twitter'. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta declared this; stating that it is in line with meta's mission to foster free expression. "we are ending our third-party fact-checking program and moving to a Community Notes model,” he said. He as well stated that he has seen this community notes method work in X, hence, it can still work for meta. The Meta CEO also stated that the shift in this policy is imminent citing dissatisfaction of users with the current method as the reason.  This community note moderation approach will be adopted by both Facebook and Instagram. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu granted his approval for the new Terms and Conditions of Service for soldiers/ratings/Airmen and commissioned officers in the Nigerian Army, Navy and Air Force. The new Harmonized Terms and Conditions of Service (HTACOS) for commissioned and non-commissioned officers  was approved during a national security Council meeting at Abuja, Nigerian Capital, presided by the President. This was disclosed in an X post made by the Presidency's official X handle @NGRPresident. The move is one of the President's commitments towards boosting the morals of officers and men of the Nigerian military. The new  HTACOS became necessary following long standing issues bordering on conditions of services and soldier's welfares which needs to be addressed  so as to ensure improved welfare of soldiers/ratings/Airmen in the service and ensure operational readiness of the troops.

The Nigerian Navy has welcomed a fresh set of new regular intakes following a passing out parade  held at Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS), Onne on Saturday 14th December, 2024. The famous Nigerian cross dresser, Idris Okuneye also known as Bobrisky has been transfered to FCID after the immigration arrest according to media reports. Idris who was involved in a saga with a Nigerian social media influencer and activist, popularly known as VeryDark Man was intercepted at Seme border by the Nigerian Immigration Service while trying to exit the country. He was arrested by the immigration on a ground that he is a person of public interest. This occured after he(Bobrisky) was invited to the House of Representative to clear the air over accusations for enjoying special privileges while in prison and an unconfirmed allegations of bribing the EFCC officials to drop the money laundering charges. According to the source, Idris was brought to the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Lagos at about 10:00pm on Monday night where he was detained while still awaiting further actions on his case. The Nigerian Immigration Service has intercepted the controversial Nigerian born cross dresser Idris Okuneye Olarewaju popular known as Bobrisky at Seme border when trying to leave the country.  This was contained on Media release posted on NIS verified X-handle on Monday.
